Most young boys dream of being firemen or astronauts. I guess if I am honest, I did dream of being a cowboy – a little bit. I was a cowboy for most Halloweens. But in reality, I have really always had a dream of becoming a dentist and ultimately an orthodontist. In fact, during my high school years, my local orthodontist was kind enough to mentor me on dentistry and orthodontics. We spent many days in his office and chatted about braces at my favorite local Italian restaurant. His name was Dr. Donald Bronsky, and I loved that he was intelligent, caring and owned his own practice in our community. From an early age, I aspired to be like him.
Fortunately, I was able to follow my dream, and after completing my undergraduate education at Binghamton University, I attended dental school at the University of Connecticut, which is perennially one of the top dental schools in the nation. Anxious for warmer weather and sunny skies, I then headed south to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where I completed a three-year advanced training residency in the specialty program of orthodontics. Since leaving Nashville, my wife and I have been trying to move closer to family here in Texas, and we have finally found a home in the Austin area.
I live in Northwest Austin with my wife, Emily (a medical doctor with Clinical Pathology Associates), and my children, Leo and Adriana. I enjoy most outdoor activities including hiking with my dog, hunting, fishing, and biking (both mountain biking and road riding).
